2006 Tinhorn Creek Cabernet Franc

This wine is nearing the end of its life cycle, but still showing us some interesting surprises and only a slight oxidation. A very impressive testament to the aging potential after 16 years. The nose offers very delicate aromas of cedar, violets and plum while the palate mostly showcases light fruits, ripe plum, dried cherry, mocha and tobacco. The acidity is still present, the tanins are soft, and the oak has disappeared. A lengthy finish with lingering spice for at least 25 seconds is the special bonus at the end. At this point, it’s an 89 point wine, but a 95 point experience. Highly recommended. (CWC, Jan 18/22).
